April 16th, 2011 | By admin in Furniture, Modern Furniture Designers | No Comments »

Coffee table s always a center of any living room: this is also the place for communication of friends who gathered for a cup of coffee and often exactly there the pictures in the frames stand and family photo-albums lay. Like the pictures keeping the remembering which do not allow past events and emotions disappearing from our life, the conceptual coffee table called Remembrance created by designer Micth Steinmetz looking like the huge photo-album will keep inside itself the most important small things which are dear like the memory.

Table – photo-album Remembrance is something in the middle between practical and original thing, furniture and art-object because it can serve as a decorative element decorating the living room or hall or the full-fledged coffee table which can be served for tea. But besides this Remembrance is also the huge album for pictures and cards and the stand for other things which you want to save for memory but not to show everybody.

Actually, Remembrance does not only look like a book, – it is. Turning over the pages filling with pictures you can re-experience pleasant moments caught on the pictures and entertain the guests. And you can tell only few people about the secret stand hidden under the thick lists of the table-album. It is more interesting…

Not only for the apartment but also for the reception in the office or for lobby in the hotel or for lounge-room in the entertainment place, – the table can serve the wonderful place for advertising pictures, booklets, visit cards and other print production promoting goods and services.

January 28th, 2011 | By admin in Furniture, Modern Furniture Designers | 2 Comments »

Untraditional book shelves are one of the most creative and interesting elements of décor of modern interior. The designer from France Olivier Dolle offers one more interpretation of “book tree” which can become the expressive dominant in the children or student room, living room or even bedroom.

Simple and stylish bookshelf made of natural oak is acceptable in two variants of design and decoration and is fixed on the wall on the hardware which is invisible for eye.

Under this dynamic “branch” the cozy sofa, ergonomic working place or capacious long chest can be placed. All other things – the background, color gamut and elements of décor which you choose – will form the appropriate exclusive context.

You should agree that so wonderful “shelf-branch” will become the source of inspiration for creative decisions and unexpected ideas. It is quite possible that this element by French designer who always combines traditional craft and contemporary design will become the part of stylish Scandinavian interior, “branch of sakura” on the background of outlines of Fudzi in the minimalist Japanese room, merry platform for books and numerous colorful toys or collection of exotic souvenirs brought from the fascinating trips.

And if you consider the designer of the shelf to be too laconic it is possible to show the creativity and place on the “branch” small fastenings for hanging various small things pleasant to the eye or thematic décor to different festivals.

December 19th, 2010 | By admin in Furniture, interior | No Comments »

Today transforming furniture takes the special place in the interior of our home. Its multifunctionality allows modeling the space depending of the concrete situations and also deciding many problems for the organization of everyday life. In the folded condition this furniture is compact and can be used in the most small-sized apartments. But the owner of capacious houses also sympathize them very much.

Combining the advantages of modern designer ideas with hi-tech materials, today furniture transformers do not look much alike their forerunners. Sofas and armchairs with folding mechanisms and possibility of regulating the body position; teenager beds on castors rolling out from the wardrobe for night; computer tables at which it is possible to work sitting and standing.

Transforming tables include all models and kinds of tables which allow regulating even one of three sizes – length, width or height.

By the way of transformations all models of transforming tables can be divided into three groups:

-          with the changing sizes of the table top, the height of legs is constant

-          with the regulating height of stands, the area of top is not changed;

-          with the full transformation of all the construction.

The first group is the most numerous and various. It includes dining tables for kitchens and dining rooms. Second group is mainly coffee tables, serving tables, decorative and other ones. The third group is the transformers as they are: the same model can be the coffee table in the living room and dining table in the kitchen. In the unfolded condition many of them is not inferior to the full-fledged dining table in size.

Corner sofas can be constructively very complicated – consist of several elements. This is very fashionable and modern kind of furniture. The form of such sofa can be various: corner with sides of the same or different length, U-shaped or some other figure – everything depends on your fantasy.

The exclusive models of soft furniture can be equipped with the built-in bar and the corner element of sofa can have no upholstery and correspond the comfortable coffee table.

The producers of soft furniture offer several kinds of basic elements and consequently numerous variants of complete set of corners. Besides that while choosing the corner sofa for your living room specify the corner you want to place it – from that “right” or “left” type of construction depends.

Usually the corner sofa correspond the entire indivisible element. However in some cases its parts can be used independently, as the separate elements of furniture and they can be moved to any place of the room. The mobile models of corner sofas are most interesting and multifunctional and their elements have the castor supports.

Corner sofas can be equipped with the mechanism of transformation: “French folding sofa”, “dolphin” or roll-out. For night this folding sofa turns into big sleeping place.

In the different places of big sofa the armrests and headrest can be situated. The set of corner sofa often includes bright beautiful pillows which give the sofa and the whole living room the neat and cozy look.

Which chest to choose?

October 6th, 2010 | By admin in Furniture, interior | No Comments »

The chests are so different today – by their sizes, forms, materials, and prices – that it is not difficult to find the suitable model for any corner of the apartment. As for colors for modern chests the experiments are so active that nothing seems to be extreme. For example the high and narrow will blend easily with not very wide space of the hall. Low and elongate one creates the effective horizontal line in the living room. In the children room the chest will teach to keep order. In the kitchen this element of furniture is indispensible. Even the kitchen set has enough roll-out cases, the small chest will never be unnecessary – moreover it will not take much place.

The materials for modern chests are “the world without borders”. The respectable producers of classic traditionally use expensive sorts of wood: nutwood, maple or cherry tree. In the modern models very different materials are combined: natural leather and stone, glass – sometimes colorful, metals – sometimes valuable. The ways of decoration are usually the know-how of the producers and designers.

The chest is very functional. It is more compact than cupboard and visually blocks up the room less. Its inner volume is used almost completely – owing to roll-out cases. The upper surface of the chest is not empty either: it presents the exhibition of “values” of house. The inside of the chest can also contain for example grating for keeping wine bottles or cases for dishes – everything depends on the desire of consumer.

All rules regarding furniture has already changed.

The wood furniture is now luxury and rarity but plastic and textile are quite popular now. However many respectful people prefer only classic. High backs, wide armrests and carved legs of armchairs are estimated in high society. Upholstery of armchair is not less important. It is desirable that it is leather, chamois or nubuk. But it is also possible to choose quite practice and qualitative textile variants. Such armchair is possible to place in bedroom, living room, cabinet or fireplace room. In any case it will be not just the simple element of furniture but proud of owner and decoration of the placement.

Though it is possible to decorate your dwelling different ways. In the case if interior of room is light and consistent in minimalism style the big oak armchair will not supplement it. The textile armchair will blend better with such placement.

That also can be modern beanbags, shapeless funny but very comfortable and practical. It is possible to experiment freely with color which will supplement the interior or decorate it with bright colors.

It is convenient when armchair is not only beautiful but also functional. For example, there are very accurate armchairs-beds which allow economizing space and being always ready for coming guests.

There are armchair-massagers, more modern and expensive, equipped with many control buttons which allow its owner to get massage and relax and choose a comfortable position, raise the shelf for legs. Some such armchairs have the built-in bar.

The armchair producers did not forget about children variants of such furniture. Children rooms can be decorated with round soft armchairs looking like a ball or flower. There are also armchairs-pouffes upholstered with soft textile with cartoon heroes. On such armchairs the pockets for children books and small toys are often sewed.

There are very progressive models of armchairs which only ultrafashionable and bold people purchase for their rooms. But such element of furniture will emphasize the personality of apartment owner.

Armchairs will never leave our apartments because it will be very uncomfortable without them. It can change and soon will not look like its forefathers but it will always keep its initial function.
